Over 2,000 years ago, a man once lived. He walked around from town to town, passing along teachings and knowledge. While to some his teaching seemed odd and strange, to others, he held the answers they had been searching for their whole lives. He met with people, he touched peoples lives, all while sharing his views that many considered rebellious, offensive, and outright blasphemy. People said he was a troublemaker. People said he was a rebel and should be outcast. But never, in the face of scorn, persecution, and sometimes hatred, did this crazy lil dude back down. So great was this man's love for people that even in the face of being labeled an outcast he didn't quit. At the cost of being arrested by the government, he didn't quit. When faced with even the prospect of death he stood for his beliefs. And that man's name....you guessed it...Jesus Christ!
And 2,000 years later, here we are. Now to all you sensitive people out there, let me get this straight. I IN NO WAY THINK I AM THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD. There...are you happy now? However, in this modern digital age that we live in, there exists this whole other cyber world. Every time you hop on the internet and start clicking links, there is no guarantee of where you will end up. In searching this information super highway of ours, you can be bombarded with information. A lot of this information will be wrong, inaccurate and some of it will just be links to porn sites. So how do you decide what's what? And that's what I'm here for. Digital Jeezus is here to bring you nothing but the truth and the light. Over time Digital Jeezus will touch on a variety of topics, dealing with everything from sports, entertainment, social issues and life itself. (Due to the constraints of a school project the majority of the next couple of weeks is going to deal with sports media, as I'm also using this blog for course credit in one of my classes, but in the weeks to come we will expand a little bit more.) I am here to not only bring you the truth, but to tell you where to go to find it for yourself. However, I must warn you. Digital Jeezus is going to be bold, outlandish, and sometimes downright offensive. But before you and your protest groups get mad and ask to get me fired from the internet, simply because I offended you, ask yourself this: What's so bad about a person being a little bit offensive? After all, so was Jesus.

I appreciate the path that Digital Jeezus can bring. Most of the time I feel lost, betrayed, or just plan ignorant on what’s happening in the cyber world but especially in the world of sports related conversation. Sometimes I can’t figure out what is truth and what is a pack full of lies. Sometimes I what to cry out to the computer heavens, what do I do? How do I know what is truth and what is a scam for a chump like me? With Digital Jeezus I feel that now I have a safety net to rely on when its time to ask the big questions, what do I want? And why the hell do we listen to Chris Broussard? What is so bad about being bold, outlandish, and sometimes downright offensive? Sometimes we need to get past being polite and get right down to business.
ReplyDeleteGreat intro if you ask me though I do know some people who are mad about your name. Well it is what it is if you ask me, I will be looking forward to your sport rants and offensive statements (because other people reactions will be priceless).
